Preschool

Claire was delighted to be selected as a "peer" student at the preschool run at the elementary near our house. The preschool is to help students have been identified with developmental delays. Claire has been exceptional in assisting with Hannah, a 3-year old girl who had a traumatic birth and had not yet learned to walk. Claire is good to hold her hand as she rides in her stroller going to lunch at the cafeteria and is usually able to soothe her when she is crying after her mom drops her off. Claire loves the social interaction. She often breaks into songs she had learned. Our favorite is her rendition of "Five Speckled Frogs".

For the first several weeks Chloe had to wear her backpack each day to drop off Claire. She would also start crying "I want to go BAAACK!" as we returned to the parking lot. Often the crying would continue for nearly an hour.
