Disneyland: Day 1

Monday morning first thing we had to see the "Castle". Claire had seen it on the promotional DVD I had gotten in the mail.
After a few rides in Fantasyland the girls wanted to go on the Tea Cups. Thanks to Katie (8 years ago) I didn't fall for that one this time. We snapped a picture at the stationary tea cup and were able to continue to enjoy our stay without any headache or nausea.

Before we tracked down Mickey Mouse the girls had to get some mouse ears. It was a given that Claire would get "Princess" mouse ears. We kind of figured that Chloe would opt for her favored character Tinker Bell mouse ears. She informed us in no uncertain terms that she wanted "Car" ears, not Tinker Bell, not Minnie Mouse, not anything else. We found Mickey at his house in Toon Town. The girls were both thrilled to see him. Claire told me "Mom, he's REAL!" It soon became kind of a joke with Chloe who would say "I wanna do it again!" after every ride or attraction.
Unfortunately at our next stop -- Minnie's house -- the guy that took our pictures bumped something on my camera and I wasn't able to figure out what the problem was until we got back to the hotel much later that evening.

We all enjoyed the Pixar Parade -- no pictures though. The girls also loved going to "Disney Playhouse - Live."
We really didn't see much of Ian and Braden. They took full advantage of their park hopper tickets and fast passes and though they didn't make it on "California Screamin" (pictured below) that day, they both claim to have ridden it 20+ times in the next 3 days.

Once again we watched the fireworks from our hotel, the Howard Johnson's parking lot, right across the street.
